1993 – RDP comes to life in a 49-0 Lowell blowout of Morton at the Inferno. The Devils improve to 3-0 – for the first time since the Les Klein club of ’69. It’s also just the third time in the post World War II era the Lowell program hasn’t lost at least one of their first three games.
1993 – By a mere two points, Gary Ridgely’s Pioneers of Clark High School, defend the home turf against traditional city powerhouse Hammond High, as they edge the Wildcats 9-7. The boys from Robertsdale tallied an 8-1 mark that year and finished first in the newly formed Lake Athletic Conference’s Blue Division.
1999 – After three weeks on the road, the gates of Hell are finally opened at the Inferno in Lowell, as the Red Devils down the Highland Trojans 25-14 in the first home game of the season for the school on Commercial Avenue.
1999 – The Hobart Brickies lose to Crown Point 41-28 at Brickie Bowl to fall to 0-4. It’s the first time since 1939 that the Brickies have lost four straight to open a season, which ironically, was the first season the team played at the fabled stadium.
2010 – Russ Radtke and Keith Kilmer square off for the first time in a 19-16 Panther win at the Boneyard in Griffith.
