1964 – Jerry Lucas and Oscar Robertson of the Cincinnati Royals combine for a 40-40 shooting performance.

1964 – A high school basketball game in North Carolina finishes with a score of 56-54 after 13 overtimes.

1980 – Gordie Howe becomes the first player in NHL history to reach the 800 career goal mark.

1992 – Ray Bourque becomes the third defensive in NHL history to reach 1,000 career points.

2000 – Current Indiana Pacers All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton is born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Today is technically his sixth birthday.
