OUTLOOK: Hammond Central is coming off its best season in its two-year program history. After a 2-8 fall in Central’s inaugural campaign in 2021, the Wolves went on to increase their win total by six this past year.
It will be a challenge for third-year Hammond Head Coach Adam Hudak to replace the program’s first North All-Star and Eastern Illinois commit Jordan Woods.
Luckily, Hudak may not have to look outside of the Woods’ household for a similar playmaker.
Dashawn Woods, the younger brother of Jordan, will be back this fall as a do-it-all-guy for Central. Alongside him are some fellow classmates that will be offensive weapons for the next two years. Brandon Burney will be under center in the fall, who had a solid Sophomore campaign in 2022.
The defense is also led by two players from the class of 2025, as Giovanni Bailey-Hannah and Jamal Morris will hold it down on that side of the ball.
Central took a large leap forward last year, but can they keep that trend going?
