1993 – Joe Carter hits a walk-off three run homer against the Phillies in the bottom of the ninth, winning the World Series for the Toronto Blue Jays.
1999 – Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden becomes the fifth coach in college football history to win 300 career games, as the Seminoles beat Clemson, coached by Bobby’s son Tommy, 17-14.
2000 – The “Monday Night Miracle”, the Jets come back from a 30-7 3Q deficit to defeat the Miami Dolphins, 40-37, in overtime.
2004 – University of Texas running back Cedric Benson becomes the sixth player in Division I football history to rush for 1,000 yards in four consecutive seasons.
