OUTLOOK: Second-year West Side Head Coach Alger Boswell’s inaugural campaign for the Cougars was a successful one, capping off the three-peat for the GLAC crown.
But 2023 is a big one for West Side, as they will take Hanover Central’s spot in the GSSC. Although they will be the newest team in the conference, do not sleep on West Side. Their recent positive consistency and notable returning talent can lead to an immediate impact in the GSSC.
However, there will be some bigger shoes to fill. The Cougars do lose 2,000+ yards of offense from graduating Camajay Griffin-Terrell along with North All-Star DL, Jamari Jefferson. In addition to them, their top five tacklers from ’22 will not be back.
There could be a goal of West Side that may be on the minds of many – winning a playoff game, as the Cougars have not done this since 2014. Could Boswell’s Cougars take that next step and not only do damage in GSSC, but in the tournament?
