Replacing a multi-year starter at quarterback is never an easy task, but that’s exactly what the Trojans have to do this year, following the graduation of Chris Mullen, who started games under center since he was a freshman. The question now becomes, does this program have the depth to overcome such challenges or will this season be one of rebuilding rather than reloading?

With three of their first four Friday’s away from “The Inferno”, the defending Sectional #17 champs won’t get much opportunity to play in front of their home fans early in the season, but that shouldn’t extinguish the flames of excitement when it comes to the 2022 Red Devils. With a dual threat QB in Riley Bank, along with several standout defenders on the roster again this season, a repeat of the sectional crown could be in order, even with a tougher field.

Could another deep tournament run be in the cards? The Wolves do have some key pieces to replace, but City has plenty coming back from last year’s squad and the coaching staff has proven they can get inexperienced players acclimated quickly. A tough schedule in the first half of the season looms.

And you know Hobart hasn’t forgotten about it. The Brickies return a boatload of talent, including 2,000 yard rusher Trey Gibson and outstanding sophomore QB Noah Ehrlich. The defense improved late in the year (before the Lowell game) and if they can keep opponents in check, the offense should have enough weapons to help the team rack up a lot of Ws.
