Berey Bros. Blue Collar Players of the Game – PCC Tournament

Congratulations to the basketball players that were named the Berey Bros. Blue Collar Players of the Game during our broadcasts of the Porter County Conference Tournament! The Blue Collar Player of the Game awards the hardest working players on the court!

BOYS BASKETBALL: Washington Twp. vs. Kouts

Tyler Hachey – Washington Twp.

The Washington Senators were so close to handing Kouts their first loss of the season and taking home the PCC title, but they came up just short. Tyler Hachey did a great job keeping WT in the game, with a blue collar effort on both ends of the court!

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Morgan Twp. vs. South Central

Amber Wolf & Abbie Tomblin – South Central

Amber and Abbie split the award after tying for the team lead in points during the game, a loss in the championship to Morgan Twp.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Washington Twp. vs. South Central

James Hernandez – Washington Twp.

James Hernandez earns his second Berey Bros. Blue Collar Player of the Game award for the tournament, thanks to a gritty effort in Washington Twp.’s semi-final win!

BOYS BASKETBALL: Kouts vs. Morgan Twp.

Tate Ivanyo – Morgan Twp.

The Cherokees fell short in the semi-final game against Kouts, but it wasn’t due to a lack of effort by Tate Ivanyo. In the loss, he put up 17 points to go along with tough defense.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Kouts vs. Morgan Twp.

Sahara Bee – Morgan Twp.

Sahara was great on the glass for the Cherokees, posting double digit rebounds to go along with 14 points in the semi-final win over rival Kouts!

GIRLS BASKETBALL: South Central vs. LaCrosse

Abbie Tomblin – South Central

Abbie Tomblin’s outstanding tournament run continued as she scored 17 points and did a great job of guiding the Satellite offense in the victory!

BOYS BASKETBALL: Westville vs. Washington Twp.

James Hernandez – Washington Twp.

Hernandez played tough on both ends of the court for the Senators in their win over Westville. On top of playing tough defense, he scored 21 points in the victory!

BOYS BASKETBALL: LaCrosse vs. South Central

Trent Smoker – South Central

Trent had a huge first half in South Central’s win over LaCrosse, and ended up putting up 20 points as as the Satellites advanced to the semi-finals!

BOYS BASKETBALL: Kouts vs. Boone Grove

Kevin Josifoski – Boone Grove

Kevin helped keep the Wolves in the game for most of the opening round contest thanks to a hard-nosed effort that also saw him score 17 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Morgan Twp. vs. Hebron

Jake Freel – Hebron

Even though Hebron fell short in their opening round game of the PCC tournament, Jake Freel put together an outstanding effort that saw him total 25 points in the loss.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Hebron vs. Kouts

Morgan Kobza & Allison Capouch – Kouts

Two Fillies tied for the award as they both played outstanding games, with Morgna Kobza scoring 22 points and Allison Capouch adding 20!

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Morgan Twp. vs. Washington Twp.

Olivia Klinger – Washington Twp.

Olivia Klinger had a “do it all” performance for the Senators, including scoring 10 points. Her gritty performance was one that definitely needed to be recognized!

GIRLS BASKETBALL: South Central vs. Westville

Abbie Tomblin – South Central

Abby Tomlin was the catalyst for the Satellite attack, scoring 13 points and facilitating offense for the entirety of the game!

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Boone Grove vs. LaCrosse

Kaylee Welkie – LaCrosse

In a tough and physical opening round matchup, Kaylee was involved all over the court, especially on the defensive end. She also scored 11 points, ensuring she took home the Berey Bros. Blue Collar Player of the Game award!
