The 10th position in the poll is somewhat of a crapshoot this week and by virtue of their 2-0 record, the Slicers take the cake. Can they keep themselves in is now the question. The answer is yes, provided they beat Valpo and a couple of teams from out of the area – but the real test comes next week against the Crown Point Bulldogs.

BOONE GROVE WOLVES

If the Lady Wolves can get past NCC opponents Hobart and Lowell this week, there’s a good chance they’ll be undefeated when they meet up with Kankakee Valley on the 17th. Rebuilding or not, this team could win a lot of games this season.

Like most teams, the Vikings are having trouble getting games in. If the weather is good enough this week, they’ll take on fellow Dunelanders LaPorte and Michigan City, before a doubleheader date with Highland on Saturday.

HIGHLAND TROJANS

The Trojan bats came alive in their last two games after a lackluster opening game performance. Hanover Central, Griffith and Valpo (DH) are up next before the NCC portion of the schedule kicks in.

LOWELL RED DEVILS

The Devils only have one game in so far and it wasn’t pretty (12-1 loss to Lake Central). Next up is #3 KV, followed by Boone Grove, Andrean, Highland and Munster. After that opening day disaster, they’ll need at least two, if not three wins to stay in the poll.

MUNSTER MUSTANGS

The Lady Mustangs are off to a good start, the loss to LC not withstanding. We know this team is good, but we should get a clue as to just how good they are in the next week or so, with Crown Point, Penn (DH), KV and Lowell all coming up.

CROWN POINT BULLDOGS

The defending champs have started strong, winning their first two games. Maintaining that perfect record will be as tough as it gets for the Dogs this week with Chesterton, Lake Central and Munster all on the docket. Go undefeated and they just might open next week at numero uno.

The Kougars slide one spot south to the third position in the poll – although we’re looking at it as closer to a tie for #2. But based on strength of schedule, the Lady Cheese get the nod over the Kougars with a K.

Despite falling to then #3 LC last week, the Trojans are off a good start. The loss however, drops them out of the top spot and into what is essentially a second place tie with KV.

The Indians have already taken down three Top 10 teams so far. At this point in the season, there’s no doubt who’s #1 – it’s Lake Central all the way. A date with No. 4 Crown Point is set for Wednesday. Region Sports will be there.
